Rowley Ashworth's employment department only acts for our trade union clients and their members and undertakes no private work.The size of the department has been increasing steadily over a number of years and is split between collective and individual employment matters. Some examples of the kind of work undertaken are:-
Individual
- Unfair dismissal
- Sex, race and disability discrimination
- Transfers of undertakings
- Contract matters
- Working time regulations
Collective
- Drafting rules and rule amendments for the union rule book
- Advising unions regarding elections
- Advising regarding mergers, drafting appropriate documentation
- Recognition
- Industrial action
The department also lectures throughout England and Wales to trade union full time officers, shop stewards and activists.
